The 9th Med-CORDEX workshop was held on-line. It was organized with morning scientific sessions and afternoon working sessions.
The main goal of the workshop is to further foster scientific exchanges among the Mediterranean regional climate modelling community and to configure the near-future of Med-CORDEX in the global context of climate research. In particular the workshop aims at :
- Having scientific talks and exchanges to raise momentum in the community
- Getting an updated status of the CORDEX-CMIP6 Baseline runs and related scientific analyses
- Organizing the Med-CORDEX contribution to IPCC AR7
- Getting informed on the Med-CORDEX contributions to the 15-year anniversary CORDEX special issue
- Getting updates from the new initiatives within the network
- Enlarging the community: new modelling groups, model output users
- Improving the sharing and usability of the Med-CORDEX dataset
The afternoon working sessions were:
- Discussion on the Med-CORDEX contribution to IPCC-AR7 (lead: Erika Coppola, Samuel Somot)
- Working session on sea level rise projections and coastal risks (lead: Gianmaria Sannino, Rosh Ranasinghe)
- Improving the outreach of Med-CORDEX (lead: Gabriel Jordà, Samuel Somot)
- Hands-on session on Med-CORDEX simulation data sharing (lead: Jesus Fernandez, Florence Sevault)
- Med-CORDEX biogeochemical initiative (lead: Marco Reale, Gabriel Jordà)
