Med-CORDEX phase 3: the baseline runs
Since its launch, one of the main strength and originality of the Med-CORDEX initiative within CORDEX is the setting, coordination and use of coupled RCMs also called Regional Climate System Models (RCSM) or Regional Earth System Models (RESM), including the high-resolution representation and the full coupling of various components of the Mediterranean regional climate system. Following this history, the Med-CORDEX-CMIP6 baseline runs are fully coupled and high-resolution RCM simulations including at least the atmosphere, land-surfaces, rivers and ocean with a simulation framework adapted from the CORDEX-CMIP6 protocol.
